We received a call from a bride that found her almost perfect dress. It was the perfect lace, color, and everything she had been looking for. Except it was too big. Way too big. The dress she brought us was a bridal size 28 and the bride was only a size 6. This bride had a vision though. She wanted something more simple and elegant. She wanted a beautiful sweetheart bodice with a corset back closure. She decided she did not want a train or the lace around the bottom of her gown - she wanted a very simple design.
With plenty of fabric to work with we got to work. The existing lace shoulder straps were removed and reshaped to a clean sweetheart bodice neckline, the side panels were removed and resized down to a size 6, we removed the train for a same length look all around, the inner crinoline was removed to show a slimmer silhouette, and an inner waist stay was added for proper support. At the end we added a pretty ivory sash to complete her vision.
She absolutely loved it. The almost perfect dress became her perfect wedding gown that she had envisioned from the beginning.
